Job Description

Position: CNC Machine Operator
Location: Elgin, SC
Type: Temp-to-Hire
Pay Rate: $25 - $28 (DOE)

Shift: Weekend 1st Shift (Friday, Saturday, Sunday / 6 AM – 6 PM) Work 36, paid for 40.

Must train on 1st shift (Monday – Thursday / 6 AM – 4:30 PM).

Position Summary
Operates machines considered highly complex, i.e. screw machines, precision grinders, critical dimension machines, multiple axis CNC machines, and complex dial index machines. Sets up complex machines through first piece inspection including writing programs if required. Trouble shoots various types of equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provides technical support and cross training to Manufacturing Technician B and C’s.
• Able to make moderately complex mechanical repairs.
• Maintains complex tooling.
• Can set up and operate variety of complex machines within department.
• Understands complex gaging and can verify its accuracy through 2nd method along with recommending gaging methods to determine part accuracy.
• Conducts all activities in conjunction with supervision. Responsible for enforcing safety and housekeeping policies.
• Adhere to safety protocols as designated by OSHA and company safety standards, including but not limited to proper PPE when necessary.
• Responsible for maintaining Lot Control.

Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Machine Tool Technology Degree preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years machinist or tool experience.
• Should include knowledge of blueprint, knowledge of complex measuring systems, SPC analysis, providing work directions, and general programming of mechanical and electrical abilities.
