Job Summary:
Conducts or participates in special procedures while working directly with the radiologist to obtain specific results to be used by physicians for diagnostic purposes and interventional treatment.
Stand-by call also required.
-Performs special procedures in a manner that ensures an accurate and complete examination within the guidelines, policies, procedures and standards of Medical Imaging to assigned patients of all ages.
-Performs sure guidance and needle guidance using CT and/or Fluoroscopy under the direct supervision of the Radiologist.
-Exhibits competency in performing and filming angiographic and CT radiographic procedures.
-Deviates from routines when the patient's condition requires it or at the request of the radiologist.
-Knowledgeable of catheters, guidewires, and sterile trays and prepares these items as necessary.
-Obtains and documents accurate pre and post procedure information as applicable.
-Follow JCAHO patient safety goals.
-Maintains quality care throughout the procedure.
-Practices radiation protection through shielding whenever possible.
-Demonstrates a practical problem solving approach to patient moving and handling issues.
-Demonstrates skills to promote patient and staff safety through appropriate use of lift equipment.
-Performs patient bedside lab testing and associated quality control in compliance with medical provider’s orders and hospital lab procedures and policies
Skills: Required Skills & Experience:
-1-3 years of experience in/with problem-solving skills, the ability to set priorities, organize work and have excellent interpersonal skills.
-Flexibility and the ability to work well with others are required.
