Job Description

Position Title: Product Owner

Employee Status: Contract

Location: Omaha NE., On-Site

Purpose:

The Product Owner will identify user needs, determine functional requirements and high-level features, work with cross-functional teams to manage product releases, and coordinate sprints. Responsible for facilitating communication between stakeholders and delivery team(s), as well as helping clearly define what should be built on behalf of the relevant business team(s) and why.

This role will serve a Commercial Property Insurance Business and all supporting applications during the time a new system is being implemented for Property.

Responsibilities:

  • Experience with business analysis or project management

  • Familiarity with continuous delivery and continuous integration

  • Insurance industry and product knowledge

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with all levels of the organization

  • Identify problems and make decisions, train personnel, and organize workflow

  • Delegate, plan, prioritize, and meet deadlines, objectives and goals

  • Design and use computer programs to analyze data

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.)

  • Knowledge of software development practices and procedures

  • Experience working in application lifecycle management tools such as Azure DevOps, JIRA, or Rally

  • 5-7 years related work experience

  • 3+ years professional experience as a Business Analyst, Business Team Manager, Project Manager, or Scrum Master
